An Evening in Golaghat
Located 1,943.2 km away from Delhi, Guwahati is the nodal point of Assam, connecting roadways and airways to the rest of the world. Guwahati is an urban area of Assam, most of the people engaged in a non-primary activity. Kamakshi Temple is the most attractive tourist spot in Guwahati.
Golaghat is the place, more rural and blessed with the natural scenery. If you are a nature lover and want to see the paddy field then, you must visit Golaghat. Evenings of the Golaghat district, especially in Rajapukhri Village is totally different from the regular evenings, we see in our daily routines. Sky here will show all the different shades of the evening and night will be full of stars in the clear sky and cool breeze touching your face. Away from electricity, A.Cs and another comfort of man-made resources, you will find yourself in the arms of natural comfort with the stars above your head and soil beneath your feet.

Monoliths
Monoliths in Cherramarai village and Sarupathar are evidence of a 9th-century kingdom in the Doyang-Dhansiri valley.
Dibrugarh is another district of Assam blessed with the scenic beauty of nature with a clear sky and Tea gardens. This district is also blessed with human engagement for their own development of roads, settlement systems. Efforts can be clearly seen at the local levels in keeping the villages clean and well-maintained roads and tracks.
Most favourable time
Bihu - A tri-annual festival in Assam, is the chief festival in Assam. It is celebrated in three sets - Rongali or Bohag Bihu observed in April, Kongali or Kati Bihu observed in October, and Bhogali or Magh Bihu observed in January.

Bihu Festival Celebration
The Rongali Bihu is the most important of the three, celebrating the Assamese new year and the spring festival.
The Bhogali Bihu or the Magh Bihu is the one that is all about food.
The Kongali Bihu or the Kati Bihu is the sombre, thrifty one reflecting a season of short supplies and is an animistic festival.
Therefore, you can decide in which auspicious month you can visit the delighted heaven on earth.

Cuisine of Assam
If you are someone who enjoys eating rice and fish, then Assam will give you a fantastic cuisine experience. Local fish is a DO NOT MISS on the menu card along with the Pork cooked using Bamboo shoots. Sausages made using King chilly will give you a thrill in your veins. I enjoyed a variety of recipes of fish in my daily diet during my venture to Assam. Hope you would not like to give it a miss when you plan to visit the place.
People
People of Assam are fantastic. According to Indian mythologies, Assam was established by Kamdev, who is the god of love and you can feel the love and hospitality in the air of Assam. I stayed in the multiple villages where I ate with them, sang with them and also learned organic farming. The welcoming nature of people in Assam makes them different from every other human being we meet in our daily life while following our daily routine in an urban environment.
What I Enjoyed The Most
More than anything else, what attracted me the most in Assam is its stunning natural scenery. The air of this blessed place will feel your heart with love, happiness and joy. Away from the city chaos, this place gives you a sense of equanimity in your heart and mind. The attitude and hospitality of people here along with the aura of place will blend you into the environment seamlessly.
